Earlier in the week, The Siam Cement Group (SCC) submitted a notification to the Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET), informing the public that as a result of the water shortage in the Map-Ta-Phut industrial estate, SCC would be reducing the operating level of its petrochemicals division from the end of June/05 onwards. After having received government reassurance that immediate measures will be taken to ensure sufficient water supply, SCC hereby confirms that its will continue to operate its petrochemicals division at full utilization. SCC will be monitoring the situation closely for any new developments and will keep both the general public and investor community informed accordingly.
